Open Master/Diploma Theses

All subsequently mentioned theses deal with optimization problems in the context of partial differential equations (PDEs). It is therefore advantageous to have some experience in at least one of the following fields:

  • Theory of PDEs
  • Numerics for PDEs
  • Nonlinear Optimization
  • Optimal Control

Currently open theses:

opt ctrl hindernis (Development of a relaxation and penalization algorithm for optimal control of the obstacle problem)

semismooth plasticity (Implementation of a semismooth Newton-method for the solution of problems in elastoplasticity)

projected newton (Implementation and analysis of the projected gradient method for PDE constrained optimal control problems with control constraints)
