Discontinuous Galerkin methods for combustion

Convection of smooth density jump on coarse grid.

The aim of this project is the development of a discontinuous Galerkin (DG) method for combustion. In a first step of the project a DG solver for steady and unsteady incompressible flows has been developed. Currently, the solver is extendended for low Mach number variable density flows (cf. Figure), which might also be used for the simulation of multiphase flows using a smooth interface approach. In a next step source terms for the simulation of combustion processes will be included.
