Prof. Andreas Schürr

The mission of the Real-Time Systems Lab is to develop, tailor, and integrate software engineering methods, languages, and tools with a special emphasis on model-driven software engineering techniques for embedded (real-time) system software. Specific research projects supported by industry and national or international research agencies (DFG, EU) focus on the design and formalization of model/graph transformation languages and tools, the adaptation/design of modeling languages for specific engineering domains, the combination of forward software engineering and software modernization technologies, the development of meta-case and model transformation tools for the above listed purposes, the integration of “commercial off-the-shelf” systems engineering tools, and the development of distributed engineering environments based on P2P technology. Being a member of the Object Management Group (OMG), (meta) modeling language standards like MOF, UML, OCL, and QVT play a key role in all these research activities.
